Suspended road bridge built between 1935 and 1937, the work experienced a number of adventures, notably during the Second World War, which made it a historic symbol of the first order for the city of Langeais.
The lighting of the batteries in blue gives the impression that the Loire is in flood. The water seems to want to get closer to its stone columns but the high and proud bridge does not see it.
To ensure the luminous effect throughout the year, the flow is directed directly onto the stone. Thus, while the level of the Loire is constantly changing, the projectors are not likely to aim for a submerged embankment and give an unflattering rendering.
At the top of the towers, the passageways are « inhabited » with a soft blue light and give the illusion of being animated like watchmen who would watch and protect the city. The headlamps are placed on the ground in the middle of the passage to ensure uniform lighting.
