Concept

The Evreux’s City Hall is the centerpiece of the General De Gaulle square. In the light plan established in 2004 by Lyum, this building is also the second most important site of the city after the Cathedral.

The perennial staging must reflect its hierarchical position and must underline its administrative function. The effects must be imposing and call on the visitors and the inhabitants. Then, the illumination is therefore architectural, in that it emphasizes the architecture of the building, to magnify its volumes and details.
This illumination is a play of shadow and light between the hollows and the voids of the facade.

So, the main objective is to raise this massive building up. To do this, the vertical lines of the columns are put forward and attract the eye upwards and give relief to the whole. In the upper part the roof is not forgotten, the edges are underlined by traces of lights that reveal the geometry of the building.

Two modes of operation are possible for this illumination :
– A classic lighting effect on white shades.
– A festive lighting playing on the colors.
During the passage to festive mode, a veil of color invades gradually the facade. The use of Led allows a great choice of color and many tables can be realized according to the periods of the year.
